Every person’s experience within their own body is unique and constantly changing. My aim is to help people develop a deeper self-awareness, clarity about their symptoms, and the tools to do something about it that actually lasts.
A solid 60 minutes spent passive on the table can feel wonderful, and for those living with insomnia, anxiety and stress, as examples, can be just the ticket. But for those living with a fear or lack of movement because pain stops them, the relief achieved from a massage is only temporary. Another side to the treatment needs to happen, and it takes place off the table, through movement.
I look forward to further directing my practice towards movement exploration, particularly with those living with acute or chronic pain.
In my capacity as an RMT, I offer Discovery appointments, which include all the normal components of a massage visit, but have a heavier focus on movement exploration. ‘Regular’ massage appointments are also available.
As a Yoga Teacher, I also offer Movement Therapy sessions, which can be done in person or virtually, but do not include any hands on work. These sessions will be spent in collaboration with ongoing dialogue. It’s not your typical yoga class. Not billable to insurance.

Helena Spears RYT 200 hrs
Helena Spears is a sassy frank lady whose classes subtly challenge the body and mind. Yoga has allowed her to bring peace to her body, mind and soul, and since completing her 200h trainings with Red Door Yoga she strives to help others find the same peace.
She likes spending time with her fur baby and husband, while finding gratitude and joy in everyday life. You can also find her outside walking, riding bikes or with her camera, and occasionally at her day job as an MRI tech.
Helena also specializes in teaching yoga for those who have pelvic pain and interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome. She has chosen to specialize in this area due to her own personal history with this challenging condition.
